Utah Must Do's #11: Lagoon

Do you like Disneyland?? Lagoon is the same thing but in Utah!!! lol It has all the rides, all the treats and snacks and it even has a swing that takes you from one side of Lagoon to the other if you hate walking. GENIUS. I can't think of a better way to spend your day than to be puking after rides that spin you out of control. They have a huge swing there that is very fun and sometimes doesn't make you sick! You lay down in a sling with two other people, and it drops you from 500 feet in the air and you just basically fly. It's an experience you'll never want to forget. Go spend half your inheritance at lagoon!!! It's worth it.

Utah Must Do's #10: Temple Square

Religious or not this is a fun place to visit. There are beautiful buildings of architecture, short 45 minute documentaries being played, beautiful flowers to admire, museums and walk through exhibits to explore, and much more! AND its all free!!! That is like Christmas to a college student! Entertainment for free?? How could that be? This is a fun place to even just walk through when feeling overwhelmed during finals, or need a pit stop while driving through salt lake. This is a beautiful place that is peaceful and does not have a ton of commotion.

Utah Must Do's #9: City Creek Center

WHERE MY SHOPPING GALS (and guys) AT?? Who isn't a fan of getting new things and eating yummy food until you want to die? The City Creek Center is the place to be, summer or winter, rain or shine. They open the roof to be an outdoor mall, or they can close it when it's cold! They have all the great trending stores, along with the classy options that is a great combination to accommodate all! It has a great view of the LDS temple, the beautiful mountains, and its an incredible place to catch up with old friends over dinner. They have great restaurants, an awesome food court, pretty fountains, and about all you could want at one destination!

Utah Must Do's #8: Bear Lake

Bear Lake is the best spot to rent a little cabin or AirBnB and explore this cute little town. It's so easy to get an airbnb for $100 and split it between 4 people! It's cheap! There are cute little stores in the town to be able to thrift shop and find cute things for so cheap! This is also a great lake for fishing, boating, paddle boarding, canoeing, etc. Anything you would want to do in a lake, DO IT HERE. It's beautiful. It's a drive up north, through the Logan Canyon but it is well worth the drive. It's the perfect get away for college students to spend a weekend full of fun and outdoor adventures.

Utah Must Do's #7: Paddle Boarding on Utah lake

This is easily one of my favorite summer past times. If you go to Utah Lake during June, July and August, you are able to rent paddle boards, canoes, and row boats. And if you're a student, and go on tuesdays, it's only $5 for a day full of unlimited fun (the college dream!) Utah Lake is very shallow, and for a ton of it, you are able to stand and touch, making it super warm, and easy to use the toys they allow you to rent. I would suggest practicing some balance, and maybe some endurance if you're not very active, but it is easy to catch on to. If you go in a group of 3 or more, it is fun to bring bungee cords and tie your boards together, and bring a speaker and listen to music and just sit and lay in the sunnn. (such a girl thing but guys might like it too) Anyways, go splurge on a tuesday and get the $5 and get a fun, full day of unlimited water toys

Utah Must Do's #5: skiing/snowboarding

You live in the destination that is ranked BEST SNOW EVER. And if you're not taking advantage of this then I think you need to move away. I'm the only person in this world that hates the cold the most, I promise. And if I can go at least once a year then you can too!!! You don't have any gear? You can rent it. Nymans is the place to go right at the mouth of Provo Canyon because if you forget to bring your gear back for 2 months, guess what, they don't get mad!!!! or charge you!! What if you don't know how? Hire a cute cute teacher and you'll have fun and maybe learn a thing or two. The amount of resorts for snow sports in Utah is uncountable. Alta, Brian Head, Deer Valley, Snowbird, Park City, Brighton, Sundance, Snowbasin, Solitude, and soooo many more. Sundance is probably the best place to start because it's small and the front mountain is quick and painless (if you suck like me it's just semi painless) I'm so bad, my mom even told me I'm worse than me 2 little sisters combined. Now she meant that as nice as possible but she was frustrated that I had left my ski coat at home, lost my pass before making it into the line and I was in tears before 9 am. (dont worry she's a nice mom) Its hard kids but everything in life worth doing is hard! Now go have fun rolling in the snow and getting concussions!!!

Utah Must Do's #6: Boating on Deer Creek

Have you ever had a desire to maybe get a concussion and hypothermia from a bad fall into a super cold lake? It is actually more fun than it sounds. Not the cold part and not falling but Deer Creek is a place that is indescribable. You can rent a boat and water ski, wake board, surf, or tube all day long! It is placed in the central part of Provo Canyon between Provo and Heber. It is a big lake with surrounding mountains and the canyon on both ends. It is beautiful! Not only is it a beautiful scenery but anything done at a lake is fun. You can fish, you can water glide, and even rent paddle boards and canoe's to play with in a little reserved cove. Since this lake is mostly created from snow runoff, it tends to be extremely cold. The water warms up a little and is breathable without a wet suit in July, August, and sometimes in June and September. Go check it out!!

Utah Must Do's #4: Concerts

Now I know what you're thinking...what artist would come to UTAH. Yeah I thought the same thing don't worry. But guess what, a lot of cool people come and its such a fun way to spend your whole night and not sleep even a little!! There is just something about live music that is just good for the soul. And honestly, there is nothing cooler than watching a passionate artist on stage doing exactly what they love. And hearing their music raw. Kind of a gross sounding word but you get the point. In the last couple of months many artists have come, including Lany, Jon Bellion, Maroon 5, Sammy Adams, The 1975, Chainsmokers, Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg (this one is only for big kids) and SO MANY MORE! Sometimes if you flirt with the security guards they will even let you into their tour bus, try it I promise it works. Go live your life as a fun college kid and go to some hella good concerts!!!!

Utah Must Do's #3: Y Mountain Hike

If you talk to anybody about this hike, they'll probably tell you it was the worst hike they've ever done. And I'm not going to lie, it kind of sucks. But you have to do it ONCE. It's a dope feeling to be standing in the middle of the mountain looking across all of Utah valley. There are 14 switch backs and about 12 of them are hell. But the last two are easy and that's about all you seem to remember. You know when women give birth and then pretty shortly after they completely forget how painful it was? I think that's how this hike goes. I seem to forget how hard it was and within a couple weeks I get hyped and want to do it again. But it's so pretty so you have to do it once!!!!

Utah Must Do's #2: Stewart Falls

If hiking Stewart Falls with pink hair isn't at the TOP of your bucket list than I don't know what is! This is the most beautiful hike ever and I love it with my whole heart. It's about two miles round trip but pretty level and not very hard. You go through tunnels of trees that open up to huge fields of flowers and grass and then you make it to this massive waterfall that leads into a river. It's actually breath taking. I've done this hike a hundred times and every single time my mouth drops wide open when I get to the end. agh I love Utah. buuuut the little security guard before you enter the canyon is kind of crazy. You don't have to pay to get in, all you have to do is park in the parking lot below, and army crawl across the upper parking lot so she doesn't see you and get mad. Or just pay the $6 to get in but being sneaky is more fun.

Utah Must Do's #1: ALPINE LOOP

The Alpine Loop: a road that connects the Provo Canyon and American Fork Canyon. Without stops, this drive takes approximately an hour and has many fun stops along the way. If starting at the mouth of Provo Canyon, you see Bridal Veil Falls on the way, Sundance, Aspen Grove, Stewart Falls, Silver Lake, Tibble Fork, Timpanogos Cave, and Ted Bundy's cave. Who wouldn't want to drive passed the famous living space of Ted Bundy?? Don't worry...it's enough out of the way that you probably wouldn't even be able to spot it from the road, but it is there. lol

The Alpine Loop is mostly known for a beautiful scenic drive. It is the one and only place girls go to take pictures for the fall (yes you'll get to see them on here too) It's the perfect place to experience Provo canyon and American Fork Canyon. It's the perfect date too...you can bring your cute girl (or potential girl) to some lakes and waterfalls, to hike some caves, you name it...the Alpine Loop has it.
